Anglia TV news footage from a roller disco at Dunstable's California Ballroom, and interview with event organiser and ballroom Manager Mick Rutter.

Chris Young reports from Dunstable’s California Ballroom at a roller disco event, the first of its kind in England. In a ballroom there are teenagers and young adults rollerskating to pop music. People skate around the outside in a circle and a group gathers to chat and dance in the centre of the ballroom. Shot of a glitter ball hanging from the ceiling and disco lights. Anglia TV’s Chris Young interviews Manager and event organiser Mike Rutter at the roller disco. He explains the background to roller disco – it is popular in America, and further explains why he organised the event. Rutter thinks the activity will be very popular in the United Kingdom. Shots of people dancing on roller skates. Young chats to some of the young people at the roller disco. He asks “how easy is it to dance on skates”. The teenagers are enthusiastic and are really enjoying themselves. Overhead views of the dancefloor and rollerskaters as the disco music plays.
