Anglia TV: The Duke of Edinburgh is installed as Chancellor of the University of Cambridge. Mother Teresa is interviewed about her work with the poor in Calcutta and her receiving an honorary degree from the Duke that day.

People are gathered around the Duke of Edinburgh dressed in university robes at Cambridge. He walks down the path through the campus courtyard while reporters take photographs and the crowd cheers. Shot of a helicopter with people standing around watching it. A man dressed in a uniform salutes the Duke of Edinburgh and shakes his hand. He shakes a woman’s hand and she curtseys to him. The Duke of Edinburgh and the man dressed in a uniform get into a car. Church bells ring as people dressed in graduation gowns walk through the door to the building. The camera pans onto the buildings of the University. People are gathered with umbrellas to watch the proceedings from behind the gates. People in graduation gowns and mortarboards walk in a line along the path. Close up of Mother Teresa dressed in a gown. Close up of the Duke of Edinburgh. He walks up the steps as the crowd cheers and claps. A procession, including the Duke of Edinburgh and people holding ceremonious objects, walks through the street. Further on, protesters chant and wave signs saying the money spent on the ‘pompous show’ should have gone on student bursaries. A crowd of people sing happy birthday to the Duke of Edinburgh. Camera pans up to people watching the proceedings from their windows, while one person sits on the window ledge. Interview with a woman who says that the Duke of Edinburgh was elected as Chancellor of the university and came to Cambridge that day to be installed in the position. She describes the role of Chancellor, such as giving out honorary degrees, and the previous people in that post throughout history. Close up of Mother Teresa. Interviewer Tony Adams and Mother Teresa are sitting opposite one another talking. Mother Teresa and another lady get out of a car and walk along the path. They shake two gentlemen’s hands. In an interview, Mother Teresa says she feels most unworthy of the honour, especially as she’s never studied theology. She states she has only lived the theology. She feels by giving her this degree, the university is acknowledging the presence of the poor. Tony Adams asks her why she has done so much work to help the poor in Calcutta. She replies that it’s because of the words of Jesus in the Bible. They discuss conditions for the poor in Calcutta and other places Mother Teresa has visited. She talks about how the rich can learn from the poor about how to be content with what you have. They discuss the nature of her work and the ways in which she aids the dying and helps them find peace with God. When asked if she is happy with her work, she smiles and says she is very happy and wouldn’t change her role.
