David Henshaw reports on a Day of Action as University teachers stage protest demonstrations over a pay claim. Adrienne Aziz makes a speech about the discrimination against universities. People are shown clapping. Close up of posters saying 'Association of University Teachers Salaries National Day of Action May 6th. Camera pans up from posters to Aziz continuing to speak. People getting on a coach at the Assemby House car park in Norwich. Coach drives off. Interview with Adrienne Aziz. Man walks to picket threatening man and demanding to know his name. Pickets stopping cars and giving leaflets. Taxi stops and driver talks to pickets. Lorries drive away from picket line. Interview with Dr. George Turner. Man on platform talking to meeting, introducing his colleagues. Interview with Turner continues - he discusses avoiding hurting students with the protests. David Henshaw speaks to camera about the protests and the distinction between the moderates and the militants as picketing continues in background.
