Anglia Television news reporter Guy Michelmore interviews Damian O’Connor from Public Eye Advertising who holds one of the bin bags. When asked what gave him the idea, Damian replies that people handle bin bags every day in their household and they have just been plain and boring up until now. Guy Michelmore asks him about the advantages of promoting their products in this way from an advertiser’s point of view. Damian replies that it means that advertising becomes a part of people’s everyday routine. Guy Michelmore interviews a man who says that he thinks there are many companies and products which wouldn’t want to be associated with a bag of rubbish. He claims “where there’s muck, there’s brass.” Stuart Ridley-Thomas, Chairman of the Public Health Committee for the South Norfolk District Council, is interviewed. He talks about when the idea was put forward to the council and how after a lot of careful consideration they gave it the go ahead. He states that this will save people who live in South Norfolk a bit of money. Guy Michelmore asks what reaction he thinks people will have upon seeing bright green bin bags on their doorstep. He replies that he’s unsure of their reaction but at least it will be something new.
