Anglia Television: Interview with Professor Stephen Hawking regarding the facts about Black Holes to see how accurate the film 'The Black Hole' is.

Close up of Professor Stephen Hawking talking about the facts regarding Black Holes. The camera zooms out to show Colonel Leroy Grant, who worked on the American science fiction film ‘The Black Hole’, and the reporter Tim Child. Hawking speaks through an interpreter. The camera zooms in on Hawking as he explains how a Black Hole is detected and how difficult it is to detect them. Close up of Colonel Leroy Grant as he talks to Hawking about how the lifetime of a large Black Hole is very long. Camera pans over to Hawking as he gives facts about Black Holes such as their speed, where they are in space and that no light can escape from them. Camera zooms in on reporter Tim Child as he asks whether it is true that Black Holes are a hazard for space travellers. Stephen Hawking replies that they are less of a hazard than an ordinary star as they are much smaller. They discuss what would happen if a person came into contact with a Black Hole. Stephen Hawking states that if you fell into a Black Hole then you would never be able to come out again to tell us what you saw. Tim Child says that soon the public may know more about Black Holes thanks to the science fiction film ‘The Black Holes’ that Colonel Grant has been working on. He address Grant and asks him for information about the film, referencing his statement that it is the most scientifically accurate science fiction film in generations. He asks whether he still believes his previous statement after having spoken to Stephen Hawking. Colonel Grant replies that only time will tell before they find out how accurate or inaccurate it is. Camera pans across the room to show Stephen Hawking and Colonel Grant sitting next to each other.
