Anglia Television report about the impact that methods of farming are having on the East Anglian countryside.
Anglia Television report on the impact farming methods are having on the East Anglian countryside. Reporter Malory Maltby puts questions to members of the public on the subject. Vox pops question what is more important to people? Recreation or agriculture? Would the public worry if animals such as the fox became extinct? Do townspeople care about the countryside? Then, struggling through the undergrowth, muddy water squelching under foot, news reporter Maltby reports from a woodland, commenting that countryside is slowly changing because of human interference. Scenes follow of destruction by agricultural workers including the cutting, burning and bulldozing away of trees and hedgerow, and the use of toxic chemical spray on land. Examples are given of wildlife that is suffering as a result including common birds, field mice, barn owls, the corncrake, sparrow hawk, and foxes. Carrying a fox, Malory presents a final piece to camera.
