Justin Fashanu Makes His Driving Debuts

1980 , Snetterton (Norfolk)

An Anglia Television news report from a charity event at Snetterton Racing Circuit featuring Justin Fashanu.

Rebecca Atherstone reports for Anglia Television from the charity event at Snetterton, where members of the public get the opportunity to be the passenger in a motor racing car. The reporter talks to a passenger about his experience of being driven by Norfolk-born Formula One racing driver Martin Brundle. Paul Whitford, the landlord of the Anglia Tavern pub, who organised the charity event to raise money for the British Heart Foundation is interviewed. Anglia reporter Rebecca Atherstone and Norwich City Football Club striker Justin Fashanu compete against one another, hoping to complete a lap in the fastest time. Professional racing driver Pete Boodle has donated the use of his car. Fashanu loses control of his car during his competing lap, and so does a lap of honour sitting on the back of a tow truck.
