Brief report on the effect of the death of Indira Gandhi on the Indian community in the Peterborough and Luton areas.

Mahebub Ladha of Peterborough Racial Equality Council is interviewed following the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, on 31 October 1984. Asked about the large Indian communities in Luton and Peterborough he replies that the people he has spoken to are shocked and affected by grief. He explains why he would not expect any rivalry or disturbance in the Indian community. The reporter was Greg Barnes for this video made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
