Additional Description
HERTIS was a college library network serving further and higher education and industry in Hertfordshire. The acronym stood for Hertfordshire Technical Library and Information Service. The network was managed by Hatfield Polytechnic Library and was established in 1956 in response to the expansion of new industries in the county. Together with the county library service, they aimed to provide resources for leisure, education and industry. A poster seen in this video advertises another of their services, the Hertfordshire Business Databank.
