Vox pops with fans and interview with Bobby Moore about plans for Southend United.

Footballer Bobby Moore is seen watching a match at the Southend United Football Club ground. Young fans gathered beside the pitch wave banners and mascots. Sports reporter Stuart Jarrold asks a few youngsters what they know about Bobby Moore – the immediate answer is ‘not a lot’. Bobby Moore walks beside an empty pitch in conversation with the reporter. He talks about the work to be done in promoting the team to a wider community, the football play run by Peter Morris, as well as the administrative, commercial and financial aspects requiring attention to get the club running efficiently. Scenes of Bobby Moore playing ball with a group of youngsters, and a match in progress. More scenes of the fans. Boys are pleased to be given scarves by Bobby Moore, and a man expresses surprise that no other club has taken on a man of such talent, hoping this will eventually win Southend promotion. Another youngster says ‘my mum likes him’. This video was made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
