Anglia Television report on fires at two properties in Ipswich which might have been racially motivated.

Exterior views of a terraced house in Handford Road, Ipswich, Suffolk with fire damage to the front door and windows. The owner is a West Indian nurse who was away at the time of the fire which was accelerated by petrol poured through the letterbox. Police say they cannot rule out a racial motive and if that is the case it will be treated very seriously. An hour later a shop in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, Faja’s Off Licence owned by an Indian family, was damaged by fire while unoccupied. Police are aware of previous incidents at the same address, and relatives of the owners have reported a vendetta against them. Police are investigating similarities between the two attacks.
