A father faces deportation to Zimbabwe but his wife may stay in the UK.

A family walk along a Luton street, past a large Post Office, and enter an adjoining house. The man is identified as Patrick Newa who works as a postman in Luton. He arrived in the UK from Africa nine years earlier and is facing deportation by the Home Office. His wife and small child sit quietly beside him. The family will be separated as his wife is allowed to stay in the UK because the Home Office admit an error was made when she entered the country. Patrick believes he will be at risk if he moves to what is now Zimbabwe because it is a difficult situation if you are not a supporter of the governing party. Clive Halle believes that Patrick Newa should be allowed to stay in the UK. He explains that Patrick has been working in the UK and paying his taxes and national insurance. There is a technicality that Patrick has not settled in the UK within the past two years, which does not make sense as he has been in the UK for nine years. Clive Halle addresses other press and media representatives, mentioning a last-minute petition to the Home Office, and appealing for someone to help and advise on this situation. The reporter was Tony Adams for this video made to be shown in a news story on Anglia Television early evening news / magazine programme About Anglia.
