Family film depicting the boys' board game, the family shop and an otter hunt.

WARNING - VIEWERS MAY FIND SOME SCENES DISTURBING A child displays his new board game and a tour of house is undertaken. A lady sits knitting on a sofa whilst her sons put on their pyjamas and get into their beds. At Brooke's stores the boys run about and ladies chat outside the shop. Inside the shop the shelves are stacked with tinned foods. Down by the river several hounds enter the water on a trail for otters, other hounds wait on the riverbank with the owners of the dogs. Several people have gathered to watch the proceedings. Two men enter the river to claim the otter which is displayed to those who have gathered around. The otter is then cut up by a gentleman. The spectators and those taking part in the hunt head home along the riverbank.

Background Information

In 1978 otter hunting became illegal in England and Wales. Otterhound packs switched to hunting mink.
