The closure of the Southwold Railway in 1929.

The film opens with a static shot of a Daily Press billboard announcing, Southwold Railway to close next week. There is a shot of the board at Southwold Station; Southwold. For Reydon and Wrentham. The signal man outside the station changes the signal. At the station people wait at the platform. The train arrives, filmed from the side and the front. Passengers alight from the train and leave the station. Outside the station there is a station bus parked. Some people load luggage onto cars. Back on the platform, there are shots of the staff and passengers as they leave the train and unload mail and other luggage. The train collects coal and steams away. There are further shots of the staff and an engine shunting wagons. Staff remove LMS placards. There is a brief shot of a man eating whilst waiting for a train. A woman lifts a child onto the train and there are shots of women passengers by the train. A boy rings a bell. The scenes that follow show the countryside through which the engine passes. There are some very dark shots showing the man previously eating a sandwich and railway staff. However, it is too dark to tell what these show. A train steams away. The final shots are taken outside Southwold Station (they are very similar to scenes from `Transport Scenes' (1929). These show types of road transport, including buses, motor cars, lorries and bicycles as well as horses pulling carts.
