Scenes of USAAF aeroplanes in action.
This film comprises several shorter films that have been joined. The first shows the airbase at Seething. There are aeroplanes on the ground in the background and airmen are fooling around. Some pose for the camera. There are shots from inside a plane as it takes off and then shots of the countryside from overhead. Other aeroplanes can be seen below and in the air. There is a brief shot showing night flying and then further scenes showing the aeroplanes flying in formation. The second film shows aeroplanes flying and on the ground. Aeroplanes are seen overhead and landing. Airmen work at the camp and aeroplanes fly overhead. The third film shows shots from the aircraft. There are other aeroplanes, the crew in the cockpit and the ground below. A shot of the night sky suggests that what follows is film of another mission. There is a brief shot of snow lying on the ground before further shots, including one of the radar screen. There are shots in the cockpit and shots on the ground. Airmen on the ground call to the cameraman and service a plane. There are further shots of the ground from a plane and of aircraft taking off. The fourth film shows brief shots of buildings in an unnamed town, along with shots of a woman and an older man. There are some shots taken around a garden or a zoo (pelicans feature) before further shots of flying. The fifth film shows scenes shooting down on the clouds as well as other aeroplanes and of the crew. There is a shot of a rainbow taken from the ground. A fire on the airfield, probably a crashed or shot down plane, is one of the few scenes from the film that suggests losses in the war. There are further flying shots and then night shots showing buildings, some of a classical style, and a train. There are further shots of flying. The sixth film shows shots taken from an aircraft. The seventh film begins with night shots and then shows the aeroplanes landing by day in the snow. Airmen are on the ground. They re-fuel the aircraft. The final sequence is in black and white. It shows the airmen in an unnamed town, playing with a dog. There is bomb damage visible. Out in the country there is a fire in the distance. Close-up shots reveal it to be a burning aircraft. Fire crews tackle the blaze. The final shots are back in the town, showing a small boy in US army kit.
