Dignitaries laying wreaths at the Ipswich War Memorial, followed by scenes of the fete.
The first sequence shows a parade to lay a wreath at the War Memorial in Christchurch Park. The Mayor of Ipswich lays a wreath as does another dignitary in civilian clothes, although wearing medals. There is a close up shot of the dignitaries, one of whom gives a speech. Flags are raised and then lowered. The parade leaves the park, led by a mounted policeman. The crowd follows.The second sequence shows events in a ring. Mounted soldiers enter the ring and give a display of formation jumping and riding. There is also a display of physical fitness by a team of boys.The final sequence shows the Mayor and other dignitaries at the railway station. A VIP meets former soldiers. They are lined up wearing civilian clothes with their medals.
