A day of remembrance and carnival in Cambridge

Men and women buy and sell poppies in and around Cambridge. There are door to door collections as well as street collections. At the University of Cambridge Rag Week individual stunts are interspersed with shots of the rag parade at various locations in the town. In a procession, a band march past accompanied by people in fancy dress. The procession makes its way to the Backs where a pageant, showing medieval Knights jousting in punts, takes place. One is knocked into the river, causing hilarity for the crowd gathered on the banks. The carnival procession continues around the streets of Cambridge, including Lady Godiva on horseback. On Trumpington Street the Corpus Mile of Pennies is filmed. Other stunts include a man offering people the chance to score a goal against him and the Emmanual Tunnel of Horror. More rag stunts include King Neptune holding court, in a punt, by Magdalen Bridge. A banner reads Imperialism On The Way Out. Further rag attractions include morris dancing and Scottish dancing.
