Cinemagazine item looking at the work of a marshman as he cuts reeds on the Broads.

A wind pump by a river, and a woman sitting by bundles of reeds. There is a wherry yacht, a scene of three girls sailing and a yacht viewed through the reeds.

Intertitles

'There we meet the marshman harvesting the reeds'. The marshman sharpens his scythe as a girl watches. He cuts the reeds and makes them into a bundle. 'Protection against the floods whilst growing, they are used for thatching, and for musical instruments, when harvested.' The bundles are loaded onto a reed lighter which is pulled by the girls.
