A steam drifters lined up along the quay and men at work unloading them. One of the fisher girls bandages her fingers ready for work. Two hold their bandaged fingers up for the camera. There are shots of the girls carrying crans, gutting fish and then packing them in salt. Three of the girls sit knitting, propped up against the barrels. There is a close up shot of their smiling faces.
