Newsreel of the opening of the pumping station at Wiggenhall St Germans, at the time believed to be the largest in the world.
The new pumping station at Wiggenhall St. Mary: the Minister of Agriculture, Walter Elliot, addresses the crowds at the opening ceremony. With some assistance, the Minister starts the machinery. There are various views of the electric motors and pumps, and the sluice gates inscribed with MLC 1934 (Middle Level Commissioners). Crowds of visitors watch the machinery in action.
