Documentary for cinema release telling the story surrounding the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, and the pilgrims and tourists who continue to visit the shrine.

Historic sites and views along the pilgrims' route from London to Walsingham include Palmers Green, the Eleanor Cross, Waltham Abbey, Bishop's Stortford, Saffron Walden and Swaffham. The story of Our Lady of Walsingham is related over specific sites: the Catchpenny Porch, Slipper Chapel, the river and the Holy Wells. The hospice's old housing and the priory ruins feature. There are detailed views of East Barsham chapel, the Black Lion hotel and its naming statue, the West Gate, the Common Place, the Pump House and the beacon fire. A dramatised sequence re-enacts scenes during the dissolution of the monasteries. The nineteenth century is represented by costumed antiquitarians exploring the ruins. Tourists loook around the village in the present day. The Anglican shrine features, and other aspects of recent heritage are mentioned - the pilgrimage, the Fransciscans' lodge, the craftsmen who make religious statues. A tourist train can be seen in the background. The film closes with a view of Our Lady of Walsingham.
