Scenes of the Rush family of St Catherine's Hall, Occold, at work on the harvest, and having fun at the seaside
The film features 'Pop' Rush, Nancy Rush, their children Margaret and Johnny, and Carrie Abbott. A man crank-starts a tractor and cuts corn while children ride on the vehicle. Nancy operates the binder the tractor is pulling and a spaniel plays in the corn. 'Pop' drives the tractor and an older boy operates the binder. At 'fourses', the workers have a break at the edge of a field. Four men pitchfork straw into a wagon pulled by a single horse. Two men topload the straw into place while the children ride on the horse. The wagon is unloaded onto a threshing machine. 'Pop' fills, ties and transports a sack in a barrow and then hoists it up on a winch. Finally, a boy rides on a horse pulling another loaded wagon. The 'play' sequence shows the family on a stony beach, blowing up a rubber boat and changing into their bathing costumes. The film ends with the family sitting floating in the boat.
