He is perhaps best known for writing and performing comedy sketches for television’s “The Fast Show”. In the film Higson performs as front man with his post-punk band “The Higsons” [at around 15:00]. The band's single “I Don’t Want To Live With Monkeys” reached no. 5 in the UK Indie Chart following its release in July 1981. ‘The Higsons’ band members were, Charlie “Switch” Higson (vocals); Terry Edwards (guitar / saxophone / trumpet); Stuart McGeachin (guitar); Simon Charterton (drums); Colin Williams (bass); and, David Cummings (guitar).
