Norwich Jubilee Scenes

1935 , Norwich (Norfolk)

Filmed by local photographer and amateur film maker, E.C. Le Grice, the footage shows scenes around Norwich during Jubilee Year 1935.

The first shots are filmed from an upstairs window, as trams pass along the Dereham Road near the Lord Nelson. At Colman's Carrow works by the river, workers, including women, leave at the end of the day. Views of Jubilee decorations around the city, then a parade of floats, one highlighting housing problems, some sponsored by Norwich Co-op. A fire engine takes part in the procession. Finally, people participate in a carnival parade along Guildhall Hill.
