Background Information

The Varsity and Public School Camps were part of an evangelical Christian movement associated with the Children's Special Service Mission and Crusaders' Union. They held summer camps and Easter house parties, largely for boys, but with some separate camps for girls. The participants were all from public school, supervised by undergraduates mainly from Oxford and Cambridge.
