Dairy Farming: Three Norfolk Farms

A Case and Steward film featuring three dairy farms. The company's products are promoted in the context of feeding techniques and concern for animal welfare.

Manor farm at Little Melton. The farmer, Mr. J Nash has a Freisian herd. Feeding technique is demonstrated; six month old calves are turned out into the fields. Breeding technique is discussed and there is a black and white sequence of afternoon milking. Case and Steward feed is featured. After milking, the cows are turned out to pasture. Major D.S. Allhusen and his wife run an Ayrshire herd at Claxton Manor. There are scenes of cows in a meadow, followed by a black and white sequence of calves in indoor pens, feeding from their mothers. At Abbey farm, there are views of the yearlings and the milking herd. The interior and exterior of the dairy is shown. A milking sequence follows in black and white, then the cows are shown on the marshes. Mr J.B. Nicholson of Neatishead Hall has a Friesian herd. Calves are fed in a field. The milking herd is brought into the collecting yard and the cows are lined up for milking. The milking sequence is again in black and white. Calves are fed and the cows return to the field.
