Documentary made by a local amateur film maker about the Eastern Coach Works factory shortly before it closed.
The deserted Eastern Coach Works factory at Lowestoft. Then, old photographs of buses followed by scenes of buses being made. In the design department, men make wooden parts. A blacksmith is at work preparing metal parts. Other elements are manufactured, including the seats and the chassis. Workers manhandle steel sheets, and a roof is fixed in place using an overhead gantry. The buses take shape, and then they are painted and fitted out. Sacks of ballast are put aboard to carry out a tipping test. Finally, at the end of the day and workers leave the factory.
