A woman, Ann Yaxley, shopping in Haverhill.
People walk the streets of Haverhill. The film follows one woman, Ann Yaxley, around the town. She enters a grocer's shop where she is served a variety of food, including Kelloggs Cornflakes, by the assistant standing behind the counter. She tries on and buys a pair of white court shoes in a shoe shop. In a clothing store she makes a selection of dresses and tries them on. Other customers, and a salesman with clothes in a suitcase, are filmed in the store. Ms. Yaxley makes her final selection which she buys. The film finishes with her walking along the street.
