Mathematics and the Village

1967 , Cottenham (Cambridgeshire)

The pupils of Cottenham Village College explore shapes, numbers and measurement around the village.

In the village, they look at the shapes visible in buildings. Back in the classroom, there is work on solid, three-dimensional forms, illustrated in the village by chimneys, machinery and playground rides. Symmetry is looked at in the Church and, and a water diviner is featured.
