A short 'cinemagazine' item featuring historic sites in Colchester and sailing barges at Hythe.

A lofty view of Colchester High Street and St. Nicholas' Church buildings in Britain's oldest town, founded by the Romans. The Castle Keep and of the gardens were built by the Normans, c. 1080, using the remains of Roman buildings. At Hythe there are views of the port area. The sprit-sailed barges are erroneously referred to in the commentary as “red-sailed trawlers”.
