A film promoting the applications of Pye radio and television equipment.

Pye Limited establishes its credentials as a pioneer in research and development in the context of Cambridge and its illustrious scientific alumni: from Isaac Newton to Henry Cavendish and his connections with Rutherford. Pye Cambridge Television vans feature in the streets of the city, and there are shots of the Pye factories. The film depicts the many applications of Pye media equipment: a Pye radio for taxis in use in a Cambridge cab; television equipment for educational purposes in the classroom and in hospital operating theatres; remote control television for use in industry; a remote control zoom lens is controlled from the offices of Canadian Pacific on Trafalgar Square; a system of monitors helps to control shunting in a rail freight yard, and work in a steel yard; aerial and under water cameras are also demonstrated. The University Boat Race in London is covered by a Pye camera crew. The film concludes with punts passing under the Bridge of Sighs and the Mathematical Bridge on the Backs at Cambridge.
