A compilation of newsreel footage made by the Sudbury Museum showing General Dawes receiving the Freedom of Sudbury.
These films all show very similar shots. The camera angle varies depending on the position of the cameraman. This is a description of the film from Empire News Bulletin. There are interior scenes from the Town Hall showing assembled dignitaries. Speeches are made and a document giving General Dawes the Freedom of the Borough, is handed to him by George C. Gooday, Mayor of Sudbury. There is a shot of the document. The General and company parade through the streets of Sudbury. There are more speeches in front of St. Peter's Church. The film ends with a close up shot of the Mayor and General Dawes. The British Screen News coverage probably has the best views of Sudbury. The coverage from Topical Budget doesn't cover the scenes from inside the Town Hall.
