A publicity film for Lowestoft. Shots of the excursion vessel `Royal Sovereign' and holiday makers on the beach and in the sea with people diving off a raft. Shots of the front and of Lowestoft's amenities and attractions. Men play golf at the South Lowestoft Golf Club and there are sequences from Kensington Gardens, of bowls matches, putting and electric boats on waterways. There Claremont Pier, advertising the ferry service to Ostend, and of the Wellington Gardens. We see putting, tennis, children riding donkeys and roller skating. There are shots of the South Pier and of the yacht basin. Crowds watch circus entertainment on the South Pier and Broads one Design yachts sail into the harbour. Lowestoft town centre busy with people and traffic. At the North beach there are shots of the paddling pool and swimming pool. A sequence showing new housing development in Lowestoft encourages the viewer to move to Lowestoft. This sequence concentrates on new semi-detached and detached housing. there are shots of the Corton Golf Club, to the North of Lowestoft and of the Denes Oval where a cricket match is in progress. Further scenes include the lighthouse, Belle Vue Park and Sparrows Nest Park. Ladies demonstrating keep fit exercises and also see the exterior of the Sparrows Nest Theatre before sailing and speedboat racing on Oulton Broad. Nicholas Everitt Park, and the evening entertainment available by showing exterior shots of the Playhouse, the Palace Cinema, the Marina Theatre and the Odeon. The final sequence is in colour showing the flower gardens of the town and the lights at night.
