A family holiday on the Broads, swimming, diving and relaxing in the countryside setting.
Shots of sailing boats on the Broads. A family relax and take breakfast in the cockpit of their boat. They clean down the decks before setting off. There are scenes of them sailing on the Broads. The hand-operated Reedham Ferry is shown. Larger boats featured on the River Yare include a coaster and a large motor cruiser. Anglers are filmed at Oulton Broad. At Salhouse Broad children swim in the river and use a rowing boat. On board the boat some listen to the radio; others dive and swim. There are scenes from Horning and a sequence showing a typical Broads scene, including derelict pumping mills, sailing boats, motor cruisers and racing dinghies on Wroxham Broad. The film ends with shots of the Broads at sunset.

Another day begins of England's famous waterways - the Norfolk Broads. Breakfast is eaten with relish and the 8.22 is forgotten. The final chore before moving off. Another unusual sight - a chain ferry. The ferry connects the villages of Reedham and Handley Cross. Cattle grazing on the lush pastureland makes a pretty scene. Big Ocean going vessels are often seen, particularly between Yarmouth and Norwich. A beautiful example of the larger type of motor cruiser. Oulton Broad Yacht Station - a popular overnight mooring point, and a favourite spot for the angler. Not a whopper, but there's always the chance of a big 'in. Many people consider Salhouse is one of Norfolk's prettiest Broads. Its shallow waters are considered completely safe for children. Many happy hours are spent by the children at Salhouse. A moored craft makes an ideal springboard for a refreshing swim. With radio switched on, the cruise is resumed. The picturesque village of Horning. The windmills, used for pumping, are now powered by electricity and oil. A yacht's graceful lines makes a pleasing picture. The variety of the craft is a feature of the Broads. Every twist and turn of the river brings a new vista.Wroxham Broad is a fine sailing venue. Racing is held throughout the summer. With the setting sun, we conclude our cruise on England's wonderful waterways - the Norfolk Broads.
