A working day at RAF Coltishall

This film, an impression of a day at RAF Coltishall, opens with early morning shots of the airfield. These include helicopters, radar equipment and interior shots of a deserted control tower. young airmen are asleep in their quarters. The next sequence inter cuts many different themes. Young airmen asleep in their quarters; shots around the quarters showing 'girlie' calendars on the walls; 'live' film of naked women lying on beaches and aeroplane and helicopters, suggestive of dream sequences; the kitchen staff preparing breakfast. There are general shots of the airfield and of the houses that form the married quarters. There is a shot of a preserved Spitfire and the bird scarring device. The hangers are opened and the aeroplanes are towed out. The commanding officer and other workers arrive by car. The Jaguars are prepared for flying. The briefing is shown, including a weather report and a report of flying conditions. An air-sea rescue team scramble and 'rescue' someone trapped in a dinghy. There are shots taken from the helicopter. Back at Coltishall, Jaguars are filmed taking off and landing. There are some shots from inside the cockpit. A civilian woman worker is shown folding and packing parachutes.
