Mechanised manufacturing processes at a factory producing crumpets.

Vats of fermenting dough. The dough is mixed by machine and loaded into moulds from a hand operated overhead mechanism. The proving dough is shown in a time lapse sequence. The Essex Crumpets are turned over in their rows to reveal cooked bases. They speed along the production line and are unloaded, wrapped and packed for despatch.
