Rapturous Raspberries or the Purloining of Poppy
1934 , West Runton (Norfolk)
Cat no. 332
A short melodrama about the triumph of love over villainy: two youngsters in love battle the waves, a policeman and an evil Sultan to be together.
This is an acted melodrama which takes place on Runton Heath and Incleborough Hill. The captions tell the story line. There are views of the village from the Heath and of Incleborough Hill. These look out over the village to the sea beyond. The boat launched by Druff is probably from a beach nearer Wells, as the background appears to show the pine trees planted on the dunes in the Wells/Holkham area. There are scenes on the beach at Runton, which include people running down the cliffs.
