The film is shot in various parts of the Broads, beginning at Thorpe St. Andrews. There is a shot of the village by the River Yare, showing the Church in the background. There are many boats on the river. A group of holiday makers approaching their boats at a Marina at Thorpe. They have their luggage on a cart, ready for loading. The film shows them leaving to begin their holiday. There is a shot up the river, showing the Rushcutters Public House in the background. The next sequence features Horning. The commentary explains its historical background. There are many boats on the river, both motor boats and sailing craft. The thatched Ferry Inn is featured, a modern building in the old style. The original received two direct hits during World War II. A view of Potter Heigham Bridge precedes shots of holiday makers on bright red water scooters. The Bishop of Norwich, the Rt. Rev. Percy Herbert, arrives by Wherry to St. Benets Abbey, to conduct an open air service. Built in 800AD, only the ruin of the gatehouse remains. The ruin of a windmill is visible through the gatehouse. Shots of Barton Regatta show sailing craft, including Billy May sailing a catamaran. There are some swimming sequences. These involve an event where the swimmers have to swim to a boat, eat a biscuit, drink milk from a baby's bottle and swim back. 'Cock Fighting' involves having to tip your opponent off the raft using only your feet. The closing sequence of the film is a series of Broads views. These include fishing at Horstead Mill, a reed boat at Hunslett Mill, and the corn growing within the remains of Burgh Castle.
