Various yachts sailing off of Harwich.
The first sequence of this film shows J. Class yachts sailing off Harwich. We see the crew and friends on board Charles Arnold's 'Bittern'. There follow numerous long shots of these large vessels. 'Britannia', owned by the King, is among them. There is a shot of a small steam freighter called 'Fairy'. A yacht rounds a light vessel and dwarfs it. This is followed by various shots of yachts with one attempting to pick up a dinghy. The coast is visible in the background on some occasions. The second sequence was filmed in 1935 and depicts a similar race but with shots of other sailing craft as well. The yacht heading directly for the camera is 'Astra', owned by Hugh Paul of Ipswich.
