A home made film that offers a record of life at The East Anglian School For Deaf And Blind Children.
The film begins with the children walking to school. It shows a class of blind children reading braille and then a class of deaf children singing Happy Birthday to You. The words are written on the blackboard for them. Some are wearing headphones and this session includes hymn practice.There are other classroom scenes before the film focuses on the games activities. The older girls play netball and the boys play football. The younger children play in the playground and the older pupils take part in athletic events including the long jump and the high jump.The next sequence shows mealtime. The younger children have their hands checked. Various activities take palce in the swimming pool including younger children being taught to swim. More playground scenes include a dramatised fight. A long sequence shows a birthday tea for some of the younger children followed by dancing in the school hall.Finally the older boys go up to the dormitory, wash and go to bed. They get up for a pillow fight that is broken up by one of the masters.
