A passenger liner departs from Tilbury.

A boat train arrives at Tilbury Riverside Station. Porters unload the baggage and then dockers load the cabin trunks onto the passenger liner. There is a shot of the clock showing 10.15. Most of the film was shot from the liner. Shooting back to the shore the film shows Tilbury Riverside Station and the London Port authority building. Aboard the liner, deck hands manhandle the trunks away. An excellent short sequence looking across the river shows two laden barges moving down river. A steam tug moves along the quayside. A view of the tug's stern shows a towing rope running out to the liner. The Nore Lightvessel, further down the estuary, is seen in two shots, the second with freight vessels at anchor. The scene then shifts back to Tilbury, with general views of movement of the river. The final sequence, in faded colour, shows well-dressed passengers on the deck, watching quayside activity.

There are no indications as to the date of this film. It was shot in peacetime. Possibly just before or just after the war. The faded colour at the end suggests late 1930s
