Documentary on summer farming activities.

Rolling and harrowing grassland by horse-drawn machinery. Brushwood harrowing is shown, whereby brushwood is tied to the harrow to level mole hills and put air in the top soil. Rolling is carried out to press the soil around the roots of the plants. The care of livestock in the summer is followed by shots of pigs in the yard. Some are allowed out to graze with the sheep and store cattle. Much of this grazing is on the salt marshes. Shearing and dipping of sheep and lambs is shown.The film continues by showing the cultivation of sugar beet and root crops. A horse-drawn hoe weeds the sugar beet and the beet is singled with men using hand hoes. The reaper cutting the silage in the next sequence is operated by tractor, although the grass is taken away by a horse drawn waggon. The silage process is shown. The hay harvest is shown next. Again, a tractor driven by Flloyd Peecock, is used for the grass cutting. Other machinery is horse-drawn. The workers are shown making the haystack. The film ends with shots of the wild roses and honeysuckle in the country lanes.
