Equipment being used with the sugar beet crop, 1963

The film shows a demonstration of a variety of farm machinery in use with the sugar beet crop in the early 1960s. The film shows a variety of tractor mounted hoes in action including the E.C.F. Underslung, Gloucester, Barford Maskell, Ugerlose Front Mounted, Webb Front Mounted and the Bean Steerage Hoe. There was a demonstration of the application of the Thimet, the new granular insecticide. Apply and hoe all in one application. The final sequences are of thinners at work.
