A promotional film for the University of Essex as a conference venue.
This film was made as part of the publicity for the conference organisation at the University of Essex. The opening titles of this film include pictures of the then Secretary of State for Education, the Rt. Hon. Shirley Williams, M.P. Later in the film Mrs. Williams can be heard giving a speech to one of the conferences. The film shows the setting of the University of Essex and offers a brief history of the University and of Wivenhoe House. It offers details of the conference, leisure, catering and social facilities for the conference guest. The film also shows the attractive nature of the setting including a sequence of film showing Colchester itself, Brightlingsea, Clacton, Dedham, Harwich and Stoke-by-Nayland. There are interior shots of the Art Gallery in Colchester.
