Girl Dress Designer

1967 , Norwich (Norfolk)

A BBC Look East news report on a young female fashion designer.

At a fashion show in a coffee house, models display the clothes of a young female fashion designer named Linda. Interviewed by a BBC East correspondent, she talks about current trends in male and female fashion and discusses the 'balletic' presentation style of the dancing models, which she believes to be more effective at showing off her designs. Finding inspiration in bright colours, simple styles and unusual materials, her clothes are assembled by local dressmakers. Regarding the sartorial differences between London and Norwich, the 19 year old designer who already runs her own Norwich boutique, claims to prefer the more 'sensible' provincial style, and talks about her desire to open more shops and design more clothes in the future.
