Collection of films from family outings

The film begins with some exterior shots of Peterborough Cathedral. There is a close up of two boys playing on the grass. A shot shows the group walking from the cathedral towards the camera. In the next segment we see Ely Cathedral in the distance, then a midrange shot, then close up. The group exits the cathedral then there is a sequence of shots of the building’s features. The boys play around a large canon outside. Next the groups visits the Abbey Gardens at Bury St Edmunds, a panoramic shot shows the site. People walk and play around the ruins. The cameraman focuses on members of the group. The boys walk back through the entrance to the Gardens. A panoramic shot shows the Dunstable Downs. The boys run about. An aircraft passes overhead and there is a runway below. There is then footage taken at Whipsnade Zoo. We see a shot of an elephant in a shed then children riding on its back. There is a sequence showing a variety of the animals including moneys being fed and sitting in a tree and on a roof, sea lions, a stag, a kangaroo, the boys feeding a deer, a man feeding two emus, camels, leopards in a cage, a lion and lioness, a bear and zebras. The next section shows the group’s trip to London Zoo. A man feeds a llama and some goats, then there are shots including birds, a peacock displaying its tail feathers, an elephant using its trunk to get food from the crowd and a giraffe. The next section was filmed at Oxborough Hall. There are some brief exterior shots of the moated hall and three ladies walking through the grounds. Finally there is a shot of the group packing up their things after a trip to the beach. The last shot shows them eating lunch on a bench.
