Arthur Melbourne-Cooper captures the London Fire Brigade responding to an emergency call. As men run to raise the alarm, the firefighters respond quickly, with one group departing on a horse-drawn fire cart. Others push a cart carrying a large extendable ladder, whilst a third group rides on another horse and cart.
