Reaching Overseas Audiences
1968
Cat no. 213875
A film highlighting the importance of finding an audience in overseas export markets.
Presented by Sir Peter Runge, President of British Industrial and Scientific Film Association, the film highlights the importance of industrial and promotional film and explains some of the methods for finding audiences in overseas markets. Runge discusses the number of film prints required for specialist and general audiences, and visits Sound Services Film Library, who specialise in the commercial distribution of industrial films. Runge also covers exhibition and presentation options, from fully-functioning outdoor mobile cinemas in Africa to screening units on trains and cruise ships. Also highlighted is the function of diplomatic links around the world and the work of the Central Office of Information, which selects and distributes suitable films abroad as well as presenting their own productions and assisting with the creation of foreign language versions. The film concludes with Gordon Begg, who demonstrates an array of film display options, from highly portable, battery-operated 8mm viewers to large, fully-automated looping displays.
