Rev. Boston's Railway

1963 , Cadeby (Leicestershire)

An About Anglia film introduced by Dick Joice, featuring railway enthusiast and clergyman, the Reverend Boston, and the Cadeby Light Railway.

Having completed the morning service, Reverend Boston hurries from the parish church of Cadeby, to the rectory, in anticipation of spending the remainder of the day maintaining the steam engine that stands in the rectory garden. Dick Joice interviews the railway enthusiast, discussing the purchase of ‘Pixie’, a W.G. Bagnall steam locomotive; detailing the many visitors it attracts. Dick Joice provides off-camera commentary as he and the Reverend, journey on ‘Pixie’. Further evidence of the clergyman’s hobby is seen, with a large collection of model railways on show at the rectory. Finally, the Reverend Boston joins a team of volunteers as they polish the locomotive and then climb aboard to travel along the Cadeby Light Railway.
