The Royal Norfolk Show 1963

1963 , Costessey (Norfolk)

Filmed for Anglia Television’s weekly programme ‘Farming Diary’, these clips feature scenes from The Royal Norfolk Show.

An overhead view of the Showground reveals the many trade stands and visitors on this clear sunny day in June. Inserts include, an exhibition by the British Sugar Corporation; a demonstration of farm machinery and mechanised grain handling equipment by industry suppliers; and the Norfolk Young Farmers' miniature model competition results. Seated in the grandstand, spectators watch as handlers parade their heavy livestock in the Grand Ring, and a double prize-winning bull poses for the camera. A shot of the King George VI gate and entrance completes the film.
